I still have problems with my iphone 5, can't get it to stream music, fed up of it. Re: RCD - firmware update by dstill » Thu May 02, am I've tried streaming bluetooth and also plugged into the MDi with an adapter for the iPhone 5, the bluotooth symbol shows up on the display but will not play music!
For the Bluetooth streaming you will need to look at updating the Bluetooth module. Are you using the factory Bluetooth or a Fiscon?
The provide firmware updates for newer phones. If it's a factory Bluetooth you will probably need to contact the dealer, I don't think firmware's are available. Re: RCD - firmware update by ZephyR » Thu May 02, pm Unless you are using a genuine Apple iPhone 5 adapter it is very unlikely that you would get audio output, most copies only charge the iPhone.
You are using an out of date browser. It may not display this or other websites correctly. You should upgrade or use an alternative browser.
Thread starter iuJacob Start date May 3, BarryT82 Go Kart Champion. You need to go to your local dealership to get the radio firmware updated. Yes, I agree with BarryT There is a firmware update for the RCDAE that brings it up to AF version which will address the mono audio bluetooth streaming feature and, probably, the other issues you mentioned. However, the dealer needs to do this update. I see you are in Vancouver.
I assume you visited the Vancouver dealership. Not all dealerships are alike. Some are more helpful than others. Tell the service advisor to go to vwhub. There are actually two updates. One takes it to revision AF and the other fixes the same issue on the AF radio. Second update, they said they said they ran a software update and everything was fixed.
Had to show the service advisor by bringing up a stereo test on my phone and playing it. Bring it in the following week, they had it for a few hours and then said there is nothing they could do short of replacing the Bluetooth module and mdi units. Brought it in the following week again, they replaced the parts.
