What game are they playing in the tangerine factor

Joey insults Luis and his tangerine, and a fight breaks out between Tino and Joey. The teacher takes Joey away. When he comes back he joins another group. Tino gets suspended. The HOA meets in the living room and Paul listens as they discuss that many things that are going wrong in the neighborhood: the first thing is the lightning rod that Mr. Donnelly put on his roof; the next is the koi that have disappeared from the fishpond. The next major issue is the muck fire.

The HOA tried to put it out by saturating it last year, and they ended up creating a swampy breeding ground for mosquitos. The mosquitos carry encephalitis; two kids died from it last year. Now the HOA decides that they will need to spray the area with toxic pesticides to get rid of the mosquitos. On top of this, it turns out that the houses that are in tents, being treated for termites, have been getting robbed of their valuables. It sounds like everything is falling apart in Lake Windsor Downs.

As he reads through the lists of different schools that his dad has laid out, he sees that nobody has contacted Erik yet. Paul feels better not having him around. He returns to his group project in science class. Theresa Cruz tells him that nobody can talk to them about Luis in the way that Joey did.

Theresa invites him and Thomas to their house to meet Luis so that Luis can show them his tangerine, the Golden Dawn. They go to the Cruz family farm and Wayne drops them off at a Quonset hut. Paul has never seen anything like it. Luis is waiting inside the hut. He takes the kids to the orange grove and tells them about how the Cruz family has been growing tangerines for almost half a century.

He brings them to a field full of small trees that they sell to other growers. He explains the different types of oranges and lemons and how they grow them. He then shows them the Golden Dawn, his new tangerine. Paul loves the tour. Luis tells him to come back anytime. Wayne drives Paul back to Lake Windsor Downs.

Wayne sees all the houses covered in termite tents. He says that they must be the houses that were built on top of old tangerines that were uprooted for the housing development to be build. Wayne is the one spraying the pesticide. He drops Paul off and starts spraying.

Paul sees Erik and has a flashback from his childhood: he remembers his parents testing his peripheral vision by getting Erik to walk on his left and right sides.

Then he remembers Erik coming up from behind him and breathing down his neck. Paul screamed and started crying. That was when Paul got his thick glasses. He thinks about the fact that his team has won every game.

But when he gets there Tino seems confused, even angry to see him. Luis is surprised, but he invites Paul to help them work. They go out into the fields and lay an irrigation system in the baking hot sun. They have a break in the shade, and Luis asks Paul what he likes about the orchard. Paul says he likes the smell. Luis agrees. Later they go out and cut holes in the hoses. Paul ends up getting badly sunburned. Paul tells Tino that he can finish the science report on his computer at home.

Tino agrees to this. Then Tino tells Paul about Luis. It was at that point that Luis stopped going to school and started working the groves. He liked it, though. He also took care of his brother and sister—Theresa and Tino. Nov 5. Donnelly invites the Fisher family over to meet some people associated with the football team at the University of Florida.

At the house, Erik acts extremely polite and courteous. Paul has hardly ever seen him this way. But it turns out that Arthur is outside waiting in the Land Cruiser, like his chauffeur. Donnelly tells Paul about Betty Bright. The next Olympics were in Moscow and the US was boycotting them.

She never got to fulfill her dream, but she was famous. As they say goodbye and go outside they see Arthur in the Land Cruiser. Leonard attempts not to be insulted, groaning "That's the spirit". The next day, Sheldon is still trying to learn key Chinese phrases with which to interrogate the local restaurant.

Penny tries to talk to Sheldon about going out with Leonard. Sheldon tries to convince Penny that he really isn't an expert on Leonard, being frequently surprised by Leonard's actions and behaviors; from Leonard hiding his loofa, to Leonard being able to tolerate small amounts of non-fat ice cream without emitting noxious gas that could be weaponized. Fearing that Leonard may come home and discover her talking to Sheldon about him, Penny invites Sheldon into her apartment to continue the conversation.

Sheldon, surprised that the conversation is not already over, accepts the invitation, noting that "we're already through the looking glass. Penny assumes that Sheldon is aware that Leonard asked her out. Sheldon was wise to this when Leonard returned to the apartment behaving in a way that reminded Sheldon of the dancing hippos from Fantasia. She invites Sheldon to sit down, but he hasn't been in Penny's apartment often enough to evaluate cushion density, airflow patterns, and dispersion of sunlight to make an informed choice about WHERE to sit.

He tells Penny to go ahead and talk while he makes these evaluations. Penny notes that she's aware that Leonard has a "little crush" on her. Sheldon finds that amusing Leonard isn't the kind of guy Penny usually goes out with, and she's concerned that if things don't go well, she's risking their friendship.

Sheldon points out that Leonard isn't the type of guy that anyone usually goes out with. Penny notes that her choices haven't been working out, and that maybe Leonard is different in a good way. The cat was placed in a box with a vial of poison that would open at a random time. From the outside, no one could know whether the cat was dead or alive until they actually opened the box, and until that happened, the cat could be thought of as BOTH dead AND alive.

Sheldon points that to Penny that until she and Leonard actually DO date, their relationship and the outcome of dating can be interpreted as both good and bad. Back at the university cafeteria , Leonard and Sheldon discuss the upcoming date. What if he blows his one chance to date her? Sheldon notes that it would likely result in Leonard becoming a lonely, bitter, old man with no progeny; "a number of evil lighthouse keepers from Scooby Doo cartoons comes to mind".

Later at the cafeteria, Leonard also seeks Sheldon's advice on dating Penny. Penny and Leonard meet the next night for their date, but Penny wants to talk first. Satisfied, he kisses her.

Finally understanding what Sheldon tried to tell her, Penny proclaims that "the cat's alive" she feels a connection with Leonard and they rush off to dinner. Leonard and Penny enter the Szechuan Palace and leave when they see Sheldon making a scene.

Sheldon is at Szechuan Palace, arguing with the manager about the Tangerine Chicken, however his incredibly flawed Mandarin leads the manager to think Sheldon is crazy, and he threatens to call the police. Sheldon doesn't realize that he's speaking the language incorrectly and thinks that their annoyed behavior and their refusal to answer his questions prove that he's right about the Tangerine Chicken.

Leonard and Penny avoid entering the place and running into Sheldon in the last moment. New on the set: 20x20 Ikea throw pillow, Gurli Solid Orange. Big Bang Theory. Release Date. What did you think? Storyline Edit. Penny has just broken up with her latest boyfriend Mike who blogged about their sex life. Besides feeling embarrassed about the blog contents, she's angry with herself for what she sees as her poor choice in men, who all seem to fit into the same mold. After a few discussions between the two on her break-up and a few tantrums on Penny's part, Leonard finally asks Penny out on an official date. Penny agrees despite or perhaps because Leonard does not fit into that mold. Afterward, Penny has second thoughts about going on a date with Leonard and speaks to the one person who she feels can place the best perspective on it: Sheldon.

Leonard too has second thoughts and speaks to his best friend, Sheldon. Will either do so? Add content advisory. Did you know Edit.
